We had a fabulous time tonight! Hannah had fun with friends from school at Trunk or Treat. There were so many adorable costumes! Then we went to our church's fall carnival and found Hannah's "boy" friend. She was treated to way to much candy!

Message to Grandpa

Hannah is so sweet. She went to her school's carnival yesterday and brought back a bunch of ballons. Today after breakfast Hannah showed me a balloon that she had written a message to her Grandpa in Heaven. He wanted to live long enough that she would remember him. I am so thankful that he is so much a part of her.

Blue Week

I have had a really stressful week. I have been overdrawn, overwhelmed, overslept, overextended & overworked. Sometimes being a single mom or just alive can be overwhelming. By the end of the day you're mentally and physically exhausted. Worries plague your mind, and you have trouble sleeping, but the next morning you must get up and do it all again. I spent some time with myself today and took a short drive. I found an amazing white wood framed home that was abandoned. I felt alone just like the house but with potential.

I am alone,

so very alone

I hurt,

so very bad

I am ignored,

just thrown aside

I am security,

for others to have

I am lonely,

there is no one close,

no one sees the pain

I cry,

hope is gone

I am alone,

and no one knows

Sweet Sunday

I love Sundays. I baked banana nut muffins for breakfast. Hannah quickly dressed for Sunday School and we were on time yea! Our Single Mom Class is back in session and I really enjoyed our class today. I realized once again how lucky Hannah and I are to be safe and healthy when there are so many sick and suffering in the world. I was also in awe of all of the strong women in our class. It is not a woe is me group, they are an empowering group of amazing women. I decided to take the day off from what I should be doing. I stopped at home to put dinner in the crock pot and we enjoyed a picnic at the park. We both needed Happy Meals and a toy. It was a beautiful day!

Something to look forward to . . .

I am planning a weekend trip to Petit Jean State Park in November. I can imagine relaxing in the cool wind, sleeping in the teepee, hiking the trails and taking in the beauty of nature.

I miss my Daddy everyday

Hannah was so close to her Grandpa.
I see his ways in her so often.

I Do Believe

by Jennifer Janiszewski

There is nothing i can do, to make him come back
There are no words I can say, that can replace the words you long to hear

There are no answer's I can give, that will satisfy your questions

There is not another soul I can introduce you to that will ever replace his

And, there is no love I can offer that will ever replace the love you shared

I can not promise your broken heart will ever be complete

I will not say it could have been worse

I will not deny it was a tragedy

I will not lie and tell you he will come back

He never really left

I do promise he hears you when you speak
I will say he loves you no matter the distance

I will not deny he is in a better place

And, I will not lie; he is waiting to greet you someday

He is every you step you take

He is in everything you do

He is the air you breathe

He is every beat of your heart

" He is like the wind. You can not see him...but you will always feel him"

Never forget . . .

To be happy you must have 3 things:

1. Someone to Love

2. Something to do

3. Something to look forward to.

The Story of Life

The Story of Life

Sometimes people come into your life and you know right away that they were meant to be there, to serve some sort of purpose, teach you a lesson, or to help you figure out who you are or who you want to become.

You never know who these people may be, your neighbor, your coworker, a long lost friend, or a complete stranger.

When you lock eyes with them, you know at that very moment they will affect your life in some profound way.

Sometimes things happen to you that may seem horrible, painful, and unfair at first, but in reflection you find that without overcoming those obstacles you would have never realized your potential, strength, willpower, or heart.

Everything happens for a reason.

Nothing happens by chance or by means of good luck.
Illness, injury, love, lost moments of true greatness, and sheer stupidity all occur to test the limits of your soul.

Without these small tests, whatever they may be, life would be like a smoothly paved, straight, flat road to nowhere. It would be safe and comfortable, but dull and utterly pointless.

The people you meet who affect your life, and the success and downfalls you experience, help to create who you are and who you become.

Even the bad experiences can be learned from. In fact, they are probably the most poignant and important ones.

If someone hurts you, betrays you, or breaks your heart, forgive them, for they have helped you learn about trust and the importance of being cautious when you open your heart.

If someone loves you, love them back unconditionally, not only because they love you, but because in a way, they are teaching you to love and how to open your heart and eyes to things.

Make every day count. Appreciate every moment and take from those moments everything that you possibly can for you may never be able to experience it again.

Talk to people that you have never talked to before, and actually listen.

Let yourself fall in love, break free, and set your sights high. Hold your head up because you have every right to.

Tell yourself you are a great individual and believe in yourself, for if you don't believe in yourself, it will be hard for others to believe in you.

You can make of your life anything you wish. Create your own life and then go out and live it with absolutely no regrets.

Most importantly if you Love someone tell him or her, for you never know what tomorrow may have in store.

Learn a lesson in life each day that you live.

That's the story of Life.

Cleaning Day

Every Saturday I try to follow my list of chores. My long, long list. I try to get everything clean and ready for the week. I reward myself with a relaxing bubble bath, manicure, pedicure, facial mask & scrub. Hannah gets treated too even though she barely touches her list of the simplest chores. She is only responsible for cleaning her room. This is my ideal Saturday morning and night. I look forward to getting up on Sunday morning to cook muffins or cinnamon rolls for breakfast, give Hannah a quick tickle and we are off to Sunday School.

How I spend my Friday nights

Friday night is our night for eating pizza and a board game or movie. Tonight we played Cranium for the first time. It has been in the unopened box for way too long. We had a lot of fun and best of all I WON! I also love that I don't have to set the alarm on Saturday mornings.

The miracle of birth

I didn't believe that Tara was pregnant. She comes in and out of the house and there are several cats on the block. I was still in denial until I heard her meowing long and loudly. I told Alex I thought she was in labor and he said he didn't know anything about cats in labor but thought it was too soon. I called Chrissy to come down and when she finally did I checked her and saw a kitten on the way out. I rushed to pick Hannah up from school while Chrissy stayed with Tara in the bathroom and said that Tara was going in circles until the kitten came out and hit the wall. I waited until Hannah was standing at the bathroom door with the news of the new kitten. Tara loves Hannah so much. She immediately crawled into Hannah's lap for support and love. Tara had 3 beautiful new kittens and is being a great mom.

And next. . . . . .

Thursdays are always a busy day at work! When I saw the school on the caller ID, I knew today was only getting worse. It was the school secretary sating that Hannah was in the office sick. She had complained that her stomach was hurting this morning and I thought she was just hungry.

I O U a McBreakfast

I'm sorry xoxoxo

What happened to easy?

Hannah wakes up laughing almost every morning. It's not that she is a morning person, I tickle her all over until she is begging me to stop. I have her clothes ready for her as I get her breakfast and morning meds ready. I love when I day goes as planned.
I planned for things to be easy but things sometimes don't work out as I expect. Hannah hates taking her morning meds. Things have gotton better but we haven't quite mastered it yet. Hannah ended up running out the door with her cup in hand and I was right behind her. I drove her to her daycare bus stop and she did finish taking them. Tomorrow is another day and we will try again.

Easy Morning

Wednesday nights are my special time. Last night while Hannah was at church, I rushed to clean and pick up around the house. I never thought that I would spend my alone time cleaning and making sure that everything is in order. After picking her up we had bathtime and went straight to bed. It really makes a difference to be prepared for the next morning.
